MonkeySocial event photo wall · Last updated 6 October 2026
MonkeySocial is an event photo wall run by Monkeyhouse Film & Television, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It shows photos from event attendees on screens at live events. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to have your photo removed.
What we collect
Photos you upload with the QR code. When you upload a photo at an event, we collect the photo, the first name you choose to give us (optional), and the time you uploaded it. We don't ask for your email, phone number, surname or social media accounts.
Public Instagram posts with an event hashtag. For some events, we display public Instagram posts that use that event's official hashtag. We find these using Instagram's official hashtag search, provided by Meta. We only receive posts that are already public. We never see private accounts, direct messages, or anything not posted with the event hashtag.
How we use it
- Every photo is reviewed by a person before it can appear on screen. Photos that are inappropriate are rejected and never shown.
- Approved photos are shown on screens at the event, with the first name you gave us if you gave one.
- When you upload, you agree that the event organiser may also use your photo on the event's own social media and promotional channels.
We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or combine it with other data about you.
Who can see it
Approved photos are seen by people at the event and, where you agreed, on the event's social media. Only Monkeyhouse Film & Television and the event organiser can see uploaded photos behind the scenes. Photos are stored with Supabase, our secure hosting provider.
How long we keep it
We delete uploaded photos and names within 30 days after the event ends. Instagram posts are displayed during the event only and are not kept afterwards.
Children
When uploading, you confirm that anyone under 18 in the photo has a parent or guardian's permission to appear on screen.
Removing your photo
You can ask for your photo to be removed at any time, during or after the event. See our data deletion instructions.
